Welcome to Combo Marianao's official website.
Combo Marianao is one of the leading Latin orchestras residing in Europe.
Built around Cuban singer Ruth Abreu's powerful voice, the group has taken part in several international festivals sharing the stage with some of salsa’s legends like Oscar D’Leon and la India.
This is an orchestra for the dancers. Its high-energy shows are aimed at pleasing even the most demanding dancers of Latin Music by mixing original songs, classic salsa hits, reggaeton, bachata and timba in a completely live show.
The Combo, regardless of the difficulties, has always refused to utilize electronic devices which are sadly becoming common in “live” shows. The Combo’s excellent musicians prefer to reach the dancer’s feet by actually playing their hearts out.
The Combo has accompanied Conjunto Chaney’s Ruben Diaz in his 2009 tour of Italy and regularly performs with Pedrito Calvo Jr. as a special guest.
The Collaboration with Pedrito has also produced the single “Buscandote” (now playing) which was included in the Salsa.it Vol.6 Compilation, published by Alosibla, and has received airplay both in Europe and throughout Latin America establishing the group as “a new fresh creative force in Latin Music”.
The group’s live performances are also enriched by the choreographies of beautiful Cuban dancer Arlena Machado and her Chicas Bombas; the Combo’s own all-Cuban dance group which completes the show and helps create that synergy between orchestra and dancers that makes a Combo Marianao concert something to be remembered.
Combo Marianao is currently working on its debut album which will include the above mentioned romantic Salsa “Buscandote” as well as the bachata “Dejame Entrar” and the timba “Yo No Tengo Na”. The album is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2010 and will include various special guests.
